~Welcome to Our Website~

Thank you for taking the time to peruse our website in search of information regarding sickle cell disease and our chapter's activities.  I am very passionate about sickle cell disease and that has made me a better advocate.

Sickle cell was discovered over 115 years ago and still there is no universal cure.  I have served in the sickle cell movement for 50 years. Over the years, I have seen some medical progress that has impacted the lives of sickle cell patients, such as prophylactic penicillin medication, newborn screening, and successful transplantation of sickle cell patients with bone marrow and cord blood stem cells.  I am eagerly awaiting a universal cure.  Until then, I will continue to fight for the cause.  It has been a real journey but it has been a labor of love.

If you would like to obtain more information regarding sickle cell disease or the activities of our organization, please do not hesitate to contact us.  As you review our Upcoming Events page, please note the varied activities planned. We would love to have you join us for any or all of these events.
